Royal Roulette 500X — RTP & Volatility Analysis
BGaming publishes one figure: 97.30%. Here's where it comes from, which bets hit it straight off the paytable, and why Straight Up is the one bet that leans on Lightning to get there.
Every bet type and what it returns is laid out in the Royal Roulette 500X payout table.
What 97.30% RTP Means at Low Volatility
RTP is the long-run average. Volatility is how bumpy the ride is on the way there, and on this table it depends heavily on which bets you make. Bet-by-bet payouts are in the Royal Roulette 500X how-to-play guide.
The wheel has 37 pockets, 1 to 36 plus a single 0. That alone fixes the return on most of the layout. A split pays 17:1 and covers 2 numbers, so it gives back 18 chips on 2 of 37 outcomes: 36/37, or 97.30%. Do the same sum for streets, corners, lines, dozens, columns and the even-money bets and you get 36/37 every time. That's our arithmetic, not a BGaming statement, but it's just the paytable multiplied out.
Straight Up is the odd one out. It pays 32:1, so a win gives back 33 chips, and 33/37 works out to 89.19%. That's about 8.1 points short of the headline. The gap is what Lightning exists to fill: one to three numbers per round can pay x50 to x500 instead of 33x. BGaming doesn't publish a separate RTP for each bet type, so we can't tell you the exact straight-up figure with Lightning included.
What you're actually trading. Every ordinary straight-up win pays three units less than at a 35:1 table. In return, a straight-up on a highlighted number can pay anything from x50 to x500. You give up a little on most straight-up wins for a rare, far larger one.
What low volatility does and doesn't mean here
BGaming rates the game Low volatility, and for most of the layout that's exactly how it plays. An even-money bet wins on 18 of 37 pockets, so just under half the time, and a dozen wins on 12 of 37. Nothing on that side of the table ever pays more than 2:1.
Straight-up play is a different shape. A single number lands about once every 37 spins on average. Most of those wins pay 33x back. The rare one that sits on a Lightning number pays 50x to 500x. So a session of straight-ups feels much bumpier than the Low label suggests, even though it's the same wheel.
How often does x500 land? We don't know, and neither does anyone else outside BGaming. The rules give the range (x50 to x500) and the count (one to three numbers), but not how the values are weighted or how often Lightning fires. If a site quotes you exact odds for a x500 hit, ask where they got them.
The practical read: outside bets keep the session slow and steady. A few straight-ups add the multiplier chase. Just don't expect the two to behave alike.

Common Myths
"A number hit by Lightning is more likely to come in"
Lightning sets the payout, not the odds. A number carrying x500 is still one pocket in 37, exactly like the other 36.
"The multiplier is paid on top of 32:1"
It isn't. The official rules say the multiplier replaces the normal payout. A straight-up on a x100 number returns 100 times the bet, not 133 times.
"Lightning boosts every bet on the number"
Only Straight Up bets count. A split or corner that includes a highlighted number still pays 17:1 or 8:1, and outside bets never change.
"Cold numbers are due"
The Statistics panel shows what already happened. Each spin is a new draw from a certified RNG, so a number that hasn't hit in 100 rounds has the same 1-in-37 chance as the one that hit last spin.
"Covering every number guarantees a profit"
Covering all 37 numbers guarantees a win but not a profit. A normal straight-up win returns 33 chips for the 37 you staked. You only come out ahead on the spins where the ball finds a Lightning number.
